The Sow's Ear

The sow's ear Is now more valuable than the silk purse, Nature than art, the silk-worm than the silk. The breast now swelling with tomorrow's milk Signifies hope, and the young eyes averse From any fear.

So the bud too Promises silently the future flower; The chrysalis in winter in its sleep Marks out the place of wings. Nature may keep Her undertakings in another hour: So may not you.

The race which came To Eve by Adam has another plan: Corrupt the garden and destroy the seed. Its work is almost done, the former need Translated into all that pleases man.
