for a vote of money, Baron Manteuffel said that the great crisis in the war could not yet be considered at an end. Prussia must continue her army in a fit state to take the field and look to the Baltic. " The possible con- tingency of war close to the frontiers of Prussia warned that nation im- peratively to maintain her military preparations in their present state, and if requisite to inereese them."
