On Tuesday Their Majesties opened the Gladstone Docks at Liverpool.
This is the completion of a huge scheme which Liverpool has been doggedly carrying out in spite of such obstacles and interruptions as the War, the depression in shipping and the desertion of Liverpool by some lines for southern ports. It shows an obstinate faith which we hope will be fully rewarded.
