SIR,—In your interesting review of Lady Dorothy Nevill's reminiscences in last week's Spectator the reviewer remarks that there is good authority for the statement that Mr. Gladstone went to the theatre on the night that he learned of Gordon's death. Mr. Morley, however, says that " the story is untrue " ("Life of Gladstone," Vol. III., p. 166, n. 2).-
