Mr. Long has been authorized by the Prime Minister to

say, in a letter to the Agent-General for New South Wales, that the Govern- ment will support the claims of the Dominions in regard to the ex-German colonies and has made this clear to the Allies. It is well known that the Dominions object most strongly to the restoration of German misrule in Africa or elsewhere. The Commonwealth Parliament, for example, this week resolved unanimously that Germany must be excluded from the Pacific. Public opinion here and throughout the Empire would be outraged if any of her former colonies were restored to Germany.
