Sip,—As Watchman fears, intolerance is widespread at Leeds University. Last

year, Sir Gerald Nabarro was banned from the Union (which he had no in- tention of entering) for remarks expressed on the colour problem. The proposer of the ban has since been elected president of the Union. The man who Wrote to the Guardian still sits on the Union com- mittee. He was not the only member of the Union committee to shout down Sir Alec. Six of a com- mittee of thirty are Communists.
