There is a rumour in Paris that the great European

Powers have resolved to effect a settlement of the Spanish quarrel : but the only foundation for it is the fact that General Ss:wails:10s departure for London has been accelerated, and that Count MA- TUSZEWICZ has also passed through Paris on his way to England. News of the arrival of the Duke DE NEMOURS at Bona had been received. The number of French troops collected there for the attack on Constantina was only 11,000; and of these 1,800 were sick in the hospitals. Further reinforcements were expected.
