Resolutions of confidence in Lord Derby have been recently passed

by the Bromley, Cranbrook, Edenbridge, and Gravesend branches of the West Kent Protection Society, and copies thereof have been forwarded to his Lordship.—Morning Herald.

The Earl of Mansfield is appointed to be her Majesty's High Com- missioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.

The Portsmouth Times states that the Queen will pay a visit to Bristol, Waterford, Dublin, and Holyhead, this summer, on her way by sea to Scotland.

The Queen and Prince Albert have authorized their names to be put at the head of a subscription-list for the sufferers by the loss of the Birken- head; and the members of the Cabinet have also subscribed.
