Post Office Howls

Sut,—On page 210 (last paragraph) Mr. Nicolson suggests leaving the -receiver off to obtain quiet. Let him try ! The post-office people connect what they call a " howler" to his line and produce a noise which can be heard all over his house.—Yours truly. -
