SIR,—Your dramatic critic must have as low a taste in
pubs as he has in humour if he describes as 'harmless little jokes and gestures' the material complained of in the letter from the Lord Cham- berlain's Office to the Garrick Theatre. Few publicans would tolerate such vulgarity in their bars.—Yours faithfully,
