Sir: What joy to read Paul Foot's review of the

new Tom Bower Maxwell biography; nearly as much pleasure as to read the ear- lier splendidly sycophantic biography of Maxwell by Joe Haines — like Foot, also on Cap'n Bob's payroll.

Ruined the Mirror, eh? Mr Foot is a socialist, and it is typical that educated socialists always decry the very system capitalism in a democracy — that allows them to flourish.

I once bought a Rolls-Royce from a sub- sequent owner of the delightful Foot family pile near Callington, in Cornwall. Foots and Benns, Harmans and Blairs, you are all the same — arguing for refugee rights or some other such use of public money which is garnered from the very capitalist system you seek to destroy.

Down here in Exeter we even have an ex- terrorist from South Africa, now a barris- ter, the very acme of self-employment and thus the antithesis of socialist principle, standing in the Labour interest.
