DEATHS.

Roderick Mitchell, second son of Sir T. L. Mitchell, Surveyor-General, New South Wales ; in his 29th year. He was on his passage to Sydney, when a sud- den lurch of the small vessel in which he was embarked threw him overboard; a heavy sea rendering any effort to save him impracticable. Lie had been selected to command a party destined to pursue the track of Leichhardt, and, if possible, ascer- tain his fate, the Legislative Council having appropriated 20001. for that purpose.
