Laundry Work. By Mrs. Lord. (Cassell and Co.)—It is practi-

cally impossible to conceive of a neater, cheaper, compacter, better-printed, or in every way handier little manual of the operation known as "the weekly wash," than this. It is arranged in the form of ton lessons, with subdivisions or secondary direc- tions, which are all put in the pithiest of language ; while salient points are emphasised by special type. Mrs. Lord's methods are not merely theoretical ; on the contrary, as she tells us, they are now worked with considerable success at the Laundry Centres of the London School Board. Even a male reader of this book may see its good qualities.
