Advices from Paris, of yesterday's date, state that much apprehension

prevailed of a renewed attempt similar to that of the 15th May: great military preparations have been made, and General Changarnier has been summoned from Algiers to assist with his advice and services.

The Moniteur officially declares vacant the chair of Public Instruction; "M. Rossi its occupant not having justified his absence since the 24th February, by any public service."

La Libertti states that the Executive Government has decided on the abandonment of the Marquesas Islands. A brig has been ordered to pre- pare to sail for those islands to bring back the French garrison.

A second edition of the Morning Chronicle has the following report- " Paris, Friday Evening. "The struggle has commenced in Paris. An awful sacrifice of life. -All is in confusion.

"The troops and National Guard are fighting with the people."
