Sacred Poems of the Nineteenth Century. Edited by Kate A.

Wright. (Cornbridge, Birmingham. 7s. 6d. net.)—This volume be- longs to a series that well deserves its name of " Dainty." It is well printed on good paper, and is of a convenient size to hold in the hand. The selection contains a great many poems that are justly favourites, but it finds room for many by little-known writers. On the whole, we think the old friends are the better, but we are glad to make the acquaintance of some of the new people. "B. M.'s" blank verse, however, hardly justifies by its quality the sacrifice of thirty pages. A selection which includes Mrs. Browning, Mr. Le Gallienne, Keble, and Mr. Elliot Stock should appeal to a wide range of taste.
