Last Saturday's meeting of the Imperial Conference opener with the

passing of a resolution, proposed by Sir Wilfri.: Laurier, for allowing the Dominions to withdraw from any commercial treaties made by the Mother Country. The Con- ference proceeded to discuss an Australian resolution in favor of Imperial co-operation for commercial purposes and support being given to British manufactured goods am: shipping. On the motion of Mr. Harcourt a clause was added to this resolution excepting from the purview of the Commis- sion the existing fiscal policy of each part of the Empire.
