6d.) —which admits to the Sale—of the Royal Horticultural Society's Sale In aid of the Red Cross Society and the Order of St. John, which is to be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week. Included In the Salo are a large number of books, chiefly of course of botanical interest, an important exception being Curtis's British Entomology. Botanists will be attracted by the 1636 edition of Gerardo's Herbal and the second and enlarged edition of Parkinson's Paradisus, 1656; and for the collector there are such rare works as The Botanical Register of Sydenhara Edwards (thirty-three volumes) and Du Petit-Thouars's Plantes orchiclies. For the more general reader there is a fascinating list of books on gardens, roses, orchids, and wild flowers.
