" CHANGING THE DICTATORS "

[To the Editor of THE SPECTATOR] SIR,—The simple answer to the question raised by your correspondent under the above heading seems to me to be that if no members of the Oxford Group (or any other God- guided persons) have yet been to Rome or Berlin to " change " Hitler or Mussolini, they have not up to the present been so " guided." After all, not even Oxford Groupers can guide God. They surrender themselves to be guided by God. And why He had not yet so guided I personally would not be so presumptuous as to ask. Such guidance is, of course, still possible.—Yours faithfully,

NORMAN MABLE.
