SIR,—Your correspondent, Mr. K. C. Rothery, con- firms an old

theory of mine that the more homo- sexuals are sent to prison the more homosexuality will spread, and the more it spreads the more people will be sent to prison for it. It follows that the various police drives against this offence defeat their own object and are probably one of the principal causes of any spread of homosexuality there may have been in recent years.—Yours faithfully,
