The latest letters from Jamaica come down to the 4th
of last month. It appears that, though the insurrection is wholly sub- tined as far as actual resistance is concerned, many parties of the Negroes still remain out; and having taken possession of the mountain fastnesses, cannot be easily compelled to come in.
