The resignation of General Lyautey, the French Minister of War,

who resented the questions asked him by the Chamber, has been soon followed by that of M. Briand-himself. The new Premier is an old, experienced, and trusted hand, M. Ribot. He has already formed his Government and announced that his only object is that of the preceding Government—to win the war.
