* * * * NEw CAPITAL SUCCESSES.

Fresh evidence of the extent of unemployed investment resources has also been afforded by the instant success which has attended some of the recent fresh issues of capital, even though they have been concerned with stocks giving such a low yield as would have been thought to be impossible only a year ago. In the case, for example, of the County Council of the West Riding of Yorkshire an issue of 11,000,000 in 34 per cent. Stock at 99 per cent. was covered about fifteen times, and, similarly, a Trinidad Loan for £1,035,000 in 84 per cent.. Stock at 984 was greatly, over-subscribed, and in the case of an issue of £1,000,000 last Tuesday of Derwent Valley Water Board 34 per cent. Stock at 994 the subscription lists were closed within a few minutes of the opening.
