J ust what makes this south east corner of Lake Geneva

so special. Well for a start it has a remarkable location, Sheltered from the north and east winds, its consequent mild Mediterranean climate has resulted in an almost sub-tropical feel. Lush lakeside gardens give way to high pasturelands, forests and mountain peaks creating one of the most beautiful settings in Europe.

When the early morning mist hangs over Lake Geneva, it takes on the air of an inland sea. Unsurprising, since this expanse of water is one of the largest natural lakes in Europe. Bathed in sunshine and clear weather it is

stunningly beautiful. No wonder that some of the greatest poets and writers from Byron, Victor Hugo, Dostoievsky, Henry James and more latterly Ernest Hemingway Noel Coward and Graham Greene have found the area enchanting.
