T here are few journeys left that can still evoke a

real sense of occasion — a sense of arriving at some far off magical destination and fewer still I hat can provide it in some style and at an incredibly advantageous tariff as presented here. There are two main elements to the arrangement each providing some of the finest services in their different fields. Firstly there is the 'Pride of Africa' a 'train deluxe' billed as the most luxurious train in the world with a rake of 20 classical railway carriages carrying just 72 passengers that plies between Pretoria and Cape Town. The train was the brainchild of Rohan Vos, a South African businessman, who originally purchased a single vintage carriage for his personal use and ended up selling all his other enterprises in favour of assembling and operating his own 'train set'. The carriages themselves are decked out in traditional hardwoods and brass Fittings with each of the elegant spacious suites

Arrive in Kimberley for a tour of the 'Big Hole' and diamond museum. The next day visit Nitalliesfontein, originally built as a watering stop on Cecil Rhodes's 'great iron way' and now converted to a most charming folly.

On arrival in Cape Town you are introduced to the second element of this magnificent journey — a sojourn of seven nights at the 5star deluxe Mount Nelson Hotel.
