In view of the increasing interest now taken in folk

museums, such as have been established in Scandinavia, Switzerland and Germany, it is pleasant to notice an illustrated pamphlet dealing with a Danish example: Den Gamle Bys Billedbog, or " The Picture Book of the Old House," shows-the rich and varied contents, ranging over five or six centuries, of a pic- turesque old house at Aarhus, which has been converted into a local folk museum with period rooms. Such institutions attract everyone, and should be multiplied.
