An Irish correspondent of the Morning Chronicle ascribes Mr. O'Keeffe's murder to the inhuman manner in which he had ejected tenants from their holdings last winter ; and says- " The well.diFposed portion of the country.people regret the act ; but mid, 'lied as it is, many a person will have a house over his head on Christinaselay, who but for it would be turned out on the wide world."

The Bishop's Palace of Raphoe was burnt down on Friday night ; and the only article saved was an organ belonging to the late Bishop.

Ilanhoe was one of the suppressed secs, and the Palace has not been used as a residence for some time. The conflagration was caused by lighting a fire in an unoccupied room.
