Srn,—On the subject of the word "parson," you may think the following extract from "The Table-Talk of John Welden" interesting :—" Though we write 'parsoa' differently, yet it is but person'—that is, the individual person set apart for the service of such a church—and it is in Latin 'persona,' and personatus I is a ' parsonage;' indeed, with the canon lawyers, 'personatus ' is any dignity or preferment in the Church."—I am, Sir, &c.,
