My Cousin from Australia. By E. E. Green. (Hutchinson and

Co.)—This is more of a novel than a tale for boys and girls ; and to be quite frank, our authoress is not so happy in these romantic stories as in the others. My Cousin from Australia is neither one thing nor the other ; it is a love-story simply, hardly a gift-book, as its appearance leads one to expect. The characters are not finished enough to attract any real interest, and they certainly lack naturalness. The story might fascinate a sentimental girl of sixteen, but would hardly pass muster with anybody much older or younger.
