The leading Money Market events of the week have been

a cessation of the drain of bullion from the Bank vaults, and with that an easier Money Market. On the 3rd of September last the metallic reserve of the Bank was 15,491,219/., and on the 22nd of the present month 14,570,611/., showing a decrease during the six weeks of 923,6081. ; but during the six weeks preceding the 3rd of September there had been an increase in the Bank bullion of nearly a similar amount, and the figure of the present week is almost identical with that of the 23rd July, when it stood 14,620,8721. Discounts easy at about 31.
