If the new series of " Library Manuals " maintains

the high standard set in the first volume, A Student's Manual of Bibliography, by Mr. Arundell Esdaile (Allen and Unwin, 12s. 6d.), it should be most useful to all book-collectors as well as to the student librarians at University College. Mr. Esdaile is well known as one of the ablest bibliographers on the British Museum staff, and his rapid survey of the whole subject—papers, printing, binding, illustration, collation, description and the use of bibliographies—is both accurate and interesting. Many a current error is silently corrected, and the latest methods of press-work and binding are clearly if briefly explained. Moreover, the volume is well and suitably illustrated.
