I would challenge Leslie Adrian to go into any chemist's, even into Boots, and ask for Roxenol, the BP equivalent of Dettol. If there is any response from the sales staff apart from an uncomprehending stare, I should be vastly sur- prised. Similarly, Cetrimide is the BP equivalent of the antiseptic ointment Cetatlex. but the former is simply not sold 'over the counter,' at any rate to casual customers.
