I-le advocates a general return to a gold standard—.although not necessarily on the pre-War basis—and discusses schemes .for avoiding fluctuations in gold values in the future. Many of the questions with which Professor Lchfeldt deals are just those upon which economists are at variance, but his views make a thoughtful and useful contribution, to the discussion, and arc, moreover, expressed with moderation and lucidity.
