Taki

Sir: How sad that J.L. Bradley (Letters, 18 August) should have chosen this moment to declare his dislike of Taki's writing! The fun of life is that few of us see the same view from the same window. If you had `. . additional reviews, comments on foreign affairs or whatnot . . .', (whatever that may be), I, for one, would burn my cherished subscription to the Spectator. Each week I read Jeffrey Bernard, Taki and P.J. Kavanagh, first, in that order, which probably implies that I'm swiftly heading for second childhood. But, surely, the charm of the Spectator has always been the skill of writing and not the power of opinion?
