Dr. Barwick Bruce died yesterday, unexpectedly, at the house of

his son in Victoria Square, Grosvenor Place. He was a veteran in both services ; having been afloat with Nelson, and present at Waterloo, and bearing many commemorative decorations. Dr. Bruce was connected by blood with many families in Barbados.

Mr. Wallace, the proprietor of the Anglo-Celt, has been found guilty of libel against the Thirty-first Regiment, upon the principal counts of the indictment. The Jury found a difficulty with respect to the word "ma- licious." The Chief Justice laid it down that a libel must be "malicious," as it meant inflicting a legal injury ; now a legal injury is malice, and malice is a legal injury.
