The Student's Handbook to the University and Colleges of Cambridge.

(Cambridge University Press. 3s. net.)—This is the fourteenth edition of a compilation that gives most useful information for the Academic year 1915-16. So far as the seven hundred pages differ from or amplify the official " Calen- dar," it is the undergraduate who has most cause to be grateful to the Syndics for this publication. For the Handbook gives him much unofficial advice for the conduct of his life and studies, as well as setting out all the official programmes and courses of examination for the year. The outstanding features of this year's edition are the special graces dealing with undergraduates on active service, and the figures of those who are actually in residence side by side with the numbers that, according to the books, should be there but for the wax : e.g., King's, 40 out of 172 ; Trinity, 169 out of 602.
