Bolshevik agitators promoted an insurrection in Bohemia last week. They

proclaimed a general strike, and at Kladno, to the north-west of Prague, they took up arms and began to loot factories and houses. The strike proved a complete failure, and the insurgents at Kladno were quickly overpowered by the troops. By Friday order was restored and the Bolshevik leaders were safely lodged in gaol. The Czecho-Slovak State, under an advanced Radical-Socialist Government, has hitherto made greater progress than any other of the new States of Central Europe. It would have been tragic if this peaceful country had been plunged into anarchy by the paid emissaries.
