The Englishwoman in India. By a Lady Resident. (Smith, Elder,

and 'Co.)—.A very well-written work, whit% makes no pretensions to be more than a useful handbook, giving full information to ladies proceeding to India as to their outfit, dress, housekeeping, nurseries, Indian servants, travelling, and cookery. This object it seems to attain, being very dear and et:incise, but it does not make the reader desire to live in India, but rather very much the contrary.
