`The War Game'

SIR.—Never having seen The War Game, I have no views on whether it should or should not be shown.

But as one who may one day be asked to approve an increase in BBC income, I have the strongest view on their wastii.g £10,000. Which BBC official authorised £10,000 to be spent on an unshowable film? Was it no one's responsibility to know what the producer was doing? Sir Hugh Greene is re- sponsible for a great deal of taxpayers' money and this is the question to which he ought to be addressing himself.
