Rain : How, When, Where, Why it is Measured ?

By G. J. Symons, F.M.S. (Stanford.)—Each of the questions put on the title- page of this book is answered clearly and conclusively by the book itself. Mr. Symons describes the various; kinds of rain guages, shows the use of measuring rain, and gives a list of the places at which rain falls more or less copiously. Incidentally we have some hints as to the best sources for the supply of water to London, but this is by the way.
