MUNICIPAL BOROUGHS.

THE Commissioners appointed to fix the boundaries of the new Muni- cipal Boroughs have received their instructions, and will, we presume, forthwith commence the execution of their duties ; which are to be completed within three months from the 15th instant. The plan on which they are to proceed is laid down in a letter from Mr. PARKES, the Secretary to the Commission, from which we extract the most material passage relative to the division of boroughs into wards.

" You will commence your division with the Oject of making your wards to contain, as nearly as possible, an equal nomber of electors; but not adhering invariably to this plan, which may be sublect to many modified ions, [rum lord circumstances, and parti- cularly from the two following principles, which the Board wish you to bear in mind- 1. When a borough contains different districts, some of which comparatively con- tain a richer and some a lancer class of inhabitants. you will not divide them so as to throw the richer class into a a ard by themselves, and the pourer info another ward by themselves; but, on !he coutrary, you will endeavour, as fir as it is practicable, to divide them so as to have some a the richer class and some of the poorer in nearly equal proportions in each ward.

2. You will attend, as y on were directed in your general instructions, to parish boundaries, rivers, and other clear geographical boundaries, when you can con- veniently do so. "' You will ascertain us nearly as you can the number of inhabited houses, and the amount of rate paid fur the last year, in each proposed ward; fur this purpose you a ill examine the Overseers' books ; and you will transmit to the Roma the number of houses, and the amount of rate laid for each street, as well as the aggregate thereof for the whole ward."

The circuits are allotted as follows--

1. To Messrs. Maude and Jones, Northern Circuit.

2. To Messrs. Ilammill and Denison, North-Western Circuit. H. To Messrs. Rumball and Du Plat, Eastern Circuit.

4. To Messrs. Aldridge and Brandreth, Western Circuit. 5. To Messrs. Buckle and Chapman, South-Western Circuit.

6. To Messrs. Leonard and Pringle, South-Eastern Circuit.

The above-named gentlemen are the Travelling Commissioners : the Central or Resident Board is composed of Messrs. Charles Shaw Le- fevre, George James Pennington, John Elliott Drinkwater, and Ed- ward Rushton.
