RETURN MATCH AT CRICKET AFTER 170 YEARS.

Sin,—I hope the following cricket incident may interest your readers. In the year 1744 a cricket match was played on the Artillery Ground, London, between the Sussex village of Slindon and Addington in Surrey. The record does not state which side was victorious. On Saturday last, July 180, a return match was played at Slindon, when a cricket team from Addington and friends were cordially received. On this occasion Addingt m won. A return match is arranged for
