Muslim brothers

Sir: Sasthi Brata writes (Letters, 11 July) that 'the Muslims introduced the wretchedly subversive notion that all men were equal in the sight of God.' What Mohammed did say was: 'Know that every Muslim is the brother of every other Muslim', a very different idea and I suggest more historically valid. I take the quotation from Comparative Religion by A.C. Bouquet.
