would be impossible, without a series of experi- ments that would seriously delay this notice, to pass an opinion as to whether the epithets " up-to-date " and " economical " are rightly appropriated. They indicate at least the right purpose. It is easy to give effective recipes, if cost is not considered, while the tendency of discovery is to utilise forces hitherto neglected in cooking as in other regions of practical science.—With this may be mentioned Cookery for Invalids and Others, by Lizzie Heritage (John Hogg).
