814, —As one of those who corresponded in your c olumns about

the Yugoslav Service. I would like to state that I, for one, am not involved in any emigre, clique. My simple interest in the affair is that of any Englishman who wants to see the BBC doing the job for which it is intended, i.e., acting as an inde- Pendent, impartial broadcasting service, and not, as at present, as a mere stooge of Radio Belgrade. In this sense I would appear to be more anxious than lb,e BBC is about the 'British' qualities of its Yugo- s'av service.—Yours faithfully,

A. C. ALEXANDER
