This morning, a meeting, attended by about a hundred Liberal

Members, was held at the Reform Club, to receive the answer of the deputation commissioned to represent to Lord JOHN RUSSELL the necessity of postponing the trial of election petitions until an amend- ment bad been made in the law. The meeting was private, no re- porters being admitted ; but it is understood that no official communi- cation of the intentions of Government will be made till the 6th of De- cember. After what passed in the House last night, this is the only reply that could well be given by the Home Secretary.
