In our account of the late extraordinary proceedings of Mr.

Rartishay in the Liverpool County Court, we mentioned that a committee had been formed to obtain redress for Mr. Whiny, and the general correction of Mr. Ramshay's excesses. The committee presented a memorial to the Earl of Carlisle, Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster ; and Mr. Ram- shay has made a counter-communication. Lord Carlisle has officially notified, that he will hear evidence in support of and against the charges, at the Court-house of Preston, in the Duchy, on the 5th of November ; when Mr. Ramshay and the memorialists may respectively appear by counsel.
