PRIVILEGE IN THE ARMY

should like to express my sincere agreement with Mr. Richard Rumbold when he explained in his letter the difficulty encountered by a private soldier in putting forward a complaint to his C.O. Another cam: of dissatisfaction concerning the Army, in my opinion, is the impenetrable social barrier that exists between officers and other ranks. The ording soldier is treated as a different animal with little mental capacity, ant even his food is of an inferior quality compared to that of his superior commissioned officer. This treatment causes much ill-feeling, more, I

think, than is commonly realised.—Yours, &c., ALBERT C. JONES. B.A.O.R.
