The first report of the House of Commons Committee on

Public Petitions was delivered this morning. From the 25th August to the 6th September the total number of petitions presented to the House was 504. Of that number no fewer than 452 were petitions from single individuals residing in Leicester and Nottingham, praying for the adoption of universal suffrage and the release of all political offenders.
