There was a large meeting yesterday at the Mansionhouse, the

Lord Mayor in the chair' " to consider the means of preventing crime among young people, and also of recovering young offenders to virtue." The meeting was addressed by Lord Shaftesbury, the Reverend Canon Bickersteth, Lord Ebrington, and others ; and resolutions were adopted declaring the necessity of establishing reformatories for the young especially in the Metropolis. As an earnest, 11001. was subscribed by the company.
