The Nationalist agitation in Egypt seems to have resolved itself

into a general strike of the native members of the Civil Service. Open disorder has ceased. The Civil Servants are trying by persuasion or threats to enlist the Egyptian Ministry against the British Protectorate. A bureaucratic strike is an amusingnovelty. Many harassed business men in Great Britain would welcome a strike of the numerous officials in Whitehall who issue decrees and counter-decrees, the main effect of which is to prevent the revival of industry. However, the Egyptian Premier has resigned office.
